Who We Work With
Tellus acts as a bridge between demand for nature-based projects from all kinds of investors, and the diverse supply of natural-capital assets managed by communities, custodians, guardians and governments.
But we’re not a consultancy, broker or marketplace. We’re expert project developers who specialise in actually building nature-based projects from the ground up with our own hands.
Whether it’s a small pilot project or a sophisticated, multi-year program with multi-faceted social, economic and environmental impacts, all projects are a union between a private-sector investor and a natural-asset owner.

Project investors
We are not here to convince anyone to take action. We work with nature-based funds, private companies, NGOs and governments who share our goal to restore and protect nature at scale. Our investment partners either specialise in funding nature-based projects or are companies who are typically quite advanced in implementing their environmental strategy.
Tellus exists to serve investors who are looking for large-scale solutions to mobilise their capital in long-term, high-ROI projects with the highest degree of transparency and control. We see the demand for high-integrity projects that drive real change and create a lasting legacy, and we’re here to make it possible.

NGOs
We know that the philanthropic sector has long been invested in the financing of nature when other actors did not necessarily have the vision or ambition to engage in this area. We also know that many of these NGOs are becoming more concerned with the long term sustainable impact of their grant giving. We can operationalise and implement philanthropic financing which provides catalytic capital for more sustainable funding through the generation of carbon and nature credits.

Governments
We work with governments both on the demand side and supply side (see below) of nature based projects. On the demand side of nature based projects many governments are formulating their carbon policy and regulatory frameworks as well as forming their strategies for NDCs under Article 6 of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. We develop projects under Article 6 which generate ITMOs (Internationally Transferred Mitigation Outcomes) for a country.

Natural-asset owners
We work with natural-asset owners of all varieties, from native custodians and local communities to governments.
For land custodians we provide access to funding, conduct rigorous feasibility studies, develop financial strategies, and operationalise a management plan.
We implement and manage complex projects in any environment
We utilise and consult with local communities and other sources of local knowledge to enhance our projects’ design.
We utilise technology to drive efficiency and transparency in our projects.
